If you have persistent acne breakouts that don’t seem to go away, then someone may have suggested that you should try one of the many possible propionibacterium acne spot treatments.

What are propionibacterium acne spot treatments?

Basically, they entail the elimination of – naturally – propionibacterium acne.  This is a kind of anaerobic bacteria that is potent enough to cause some skin problems for a very long time, unless treated.  Propionobacterium acne, once trapped by pores that close down, will continually secrete Staphylococcus aureus which can lead to severe acne breakouts.  Being a bacteria, propionibacterium acne will continue to thrive unless killed.

There 2 kinds of spot treatments that can remedy the situation:

1.     Antibacterial spot treatments.  Propionibacterium acne is quite sensitive to antibiotics.  Hence, once determined, this bacteria is subjected to tetracycline, Azithromycin, Nadifloxacin, benzoyl peroxide and other appropriate antibiotics.  Such spot treatments may require several sessions.

2.    Ultraviolet spot treatments.  The bacteria is also known to be photosensitive, hence, spot treatments may involve application of ultraviolet light to kill it instantly.  Higher frequencies of irradiation are sometimes resorted to so that bacteria in vitro won’t be able to see the light of day  – no pun intended of course.

So, to try or not to try these spot treatments?  Technology has rendered them quite common and inexpensive, and sessions won’t last more than an hour.  You have nothing to lose if you’d give these spot treatments a shot.
